A Revival Fire Church Should Be Relevant Without Being Relative
If the Church is going to impact the Millennials, Gen Z’ers, and especially the Alpha Generation coming up, we must get way more creative in the way we express our witness and our worship.
Whoever is on the cutting edge of creativity in culture, becomes the influencers of culture.
If we want to impact our culture, then we must become innovative in our structures, systems, and expressions. We must get to the forefront of creativity, if we want to become relevant to the generations coming up.
We must have Cultural Relevancy in the Church without Cultural Relativism…
It’s time to be creative in how we express the presence and power of God, in, and through the Church, without compromising the message…
It’s time to break out of our tired traditions…while maintaining the Truth…
It’s time to do Church differently because the old wine-skin is just not working out so well…
It’s time to take some risk to do something creative in representing God today…the world is waiting to see the real Jesus...
The emerging generations have been steeped in Cultural Marxism and Cultural Relativism, that has pushed them to deny Universal Truth, Absolute Morality, and Supreme Justice. Thus, many have bought into the Tolerance Movement and Globalism Philosophy, expressed in the 2030 agenda of the United Nations and the Ruling Technogarchs.
We are not going to argue the younger generations into conformity to Kingdom Values, but we can certainly provide a compass to those who encounter God’s presence and power, and want more of His goodness.
We must be able to reveal the real Jesus to the emerging generations in a relevant way, if we want to be a viable influence into the culture. Like the Jesus Movement of days past, we must find ways to be “all things to all people”, if we expect to win them to Christ.
I believe creative miracles, and signs and wonders, are some of the best ways to reach the emerging generations. They have had enough “virtual reality”, in the Church, and in their own lives, and are looking for a reality that goes beyond a game or religion.
Encountering God’s presence and power, coupled with community, in the context of a creative environment is the surest way of getting the attention and acceptance of the emerging generations.
Imagine a church service that looked more like a Coachella Festival — different styles of music, dance, art, spoken word, videography, photography, and preaching, where everyone is engaged and activated to express themselves freely. Imagine how God could use all of these creative expressions to speak to the hearts of people who are in need of healing and hope.
And then, to disciple people in the context of a vibrant, caring community, that is committed to vulnerable connection in the safety of other people who desire to have real, raw, relationships. Imagine how healthy people would become, if they had people around them who believed in them, and encouraged them to pursue their divine identity, and pursue their supernatural destiny.
I believe we can change the world, if we could take enough risk to scrap the obsolete Church structures and expressions of the past, without sacrificing the timeless truths of the Kingdom of God.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Jesus, as the head of the Church, along with Holy Spirit, wants to download revelations and innovations, that will be effective in reaching the world at this point in history. The way we respond will determine how history will describe our decisions to take risk to be relevant, in order to win some to Christ (1 Corinthians 9:22).
I believe our culture is ripe for a Great Harvest.
At OC Fire Church, we want to be part of a Revival Wildfire, that results in a Revivalution, that transforms culture through a Catalytic, Creative, Community, in which God’s Presence and Power is demonstrating in real and relevant ways.
We would love to partner with you in any way to propel the fire in, and through, your life.
